This year’s Holiday Party was at the home of President Bob and the First Lady of Fiberglass, Barbara. Forty-one attended. The house was full but everyone found a place to stand and chat or sit and eat. And did we eat!! The dining room table was laden with dishes and pots of food of all kinds. After the dinner was cleared, and complete table full of desserts appeared and we started in all over again.
There was plenty of good company and cheer and conversation. Sadly some "regulars" were noted among the missing due to other commitments and illness. Still it was good to see Danny up and around and holding court in the living room.
The highlight of the evening was, as it always is, the Yankee Swap. The G’s Christmas Tree was nearly obscured by the pile of assorted packages, bags, and other loot. One by one the numbers were called and the gifts were selected. There were a number of notable swaps this year involving cordless drills, Bailey’s Irish Crème, and one Corvette jacket. Jack M wowed us all by modelling (and quickly losing) apron which left little to the imagination.
Mrs.G wanted to thank all those who brought food and particularly those who helped with the serving and cleanup. Bob said he had such a good time this year he forgot to put on his pajamas.
