Our traditional winterfest, the Soup Party was January 24 at the home of member Rick and Jaquie Wile in Norfolk. The festivities began at 630 with everyone arriving laden with crock pots and other containers. Soon extension cords were running all over the kitchen and some very good smells were beginning to fill the house. The Wiles’ home is perfect for this type of occasion, wide open and welcoming. By seven we had a full house and folks were sitting and standing, chatting and chomping, and generally enjoying themselves and each other’s company. There were many soups and chili to taste. Much credit goes to everyone who prepared soups, chili, salads and breads. Everyone had a great time and we reluctantly stepped out into that cold night for the drive home.
